Popular lawn grasses grow well in Rogers’ welcoming climate. So do unpopular but all-too-common weeds. Species you’re likely to encounter include, but aren’t limited to:
Ground Cover Species
Many people purposely choose a ground cover like Creeping Charlie (a ground ivy) or white clover for all or part of their lawn. However, these species can easily escape the confines of your neighbor’s yard and crawl into your own.
Grassy Weed Species
Grassy weeds might be hard to see at first, but they grow fast and rapidly go to seed. Crabgrass and dallisgrass (also known as ‘Dallas Grass’) are two of the most common species of grassy weeds, along with goosegrass and nutsedge.
Broadleaf Weed Species
Broadleaf weeds include the ordinary dandelion and familiar henbit, as well as chickweed, spurge, and common blue violets. These fast-to-flower weeds may look pretty, but they will rapidly propagate across your lawn.
Dealing With Weeds
There are four parts to a solid lawn management program: weed control, lawn fertilization, lawn aeration, and overseeding. Whether you just need a little help against a weed outbreak or have a lawn that’s been fighting a losing battle for a while, we can help.
