With our extensive experience and industry knowledge, your trees and shrubs are assuredly in expert hands.
What Our Tree & Shrub Care Program Offers
The specifics of your program will be tailored to your unique property needs and challenges, but our array of tree and shrub services addresses a wide spectrum of issues. We evaluate your trees and shrubs to identify the best treatments for your plan, including pest control for trees and shrubs. We also provide valuable insights for year-round foliage care to help maintain its pristine condition between our visits. Discover some of our tree and shrub care options below:
Dormant Oil Application
We can eliminate spider mites, aphid mites, and other insects by applying dormant oil to your trees and shrubs. This involves coating your greenery with a thin layer of dormant oil, obstructing the pores insects use to breathe. Dormant oil is also effective in preventing scale on certain shrubs and trees. Spring is ideal for this application before plants show signs of waking, though late fall is another opportunity after leaves have fallen.
Fertilizer
Fertilization is crucial for the growth and health of your lawn and foliage, including trees and shrubs. We inject six inches of tree and shrub fertilizer into their drip lines. Proper fertilization promotes robust growth and improves resistance to pests and diseases. If your trees and shrubs are struggling with weak growth, fertilizing can help overcome these challenges. Fertilization also mitigates stress from storms, diseases, insect feeding, and other environmental pressures. It supports young trees and shrubs in their growth and invigorates slow-growing species while maintaining color and health in mature plants.
Insect & Disease Control
Insects can wreak havoc on your landscape. Our insect and disease control applications shield your non-flowering plants up to 25 feet tall from these threats, including powdery mildew and Japanese Beetles. Insects ingesting our protective applications will perish. We provide this service three times each season for reliable protection and control.

Tree & Shrub Care Tips
During extended dry spells, your plants need additional water to remain healthy, especially newly planted or non-established trees. Follow the "5 + 5 rule": water a tree with five gallons plus an additional five gallons per trunk diameter-inch. Mature trees need about an inch of water weekly to sustain soil moisture. Continue watering throughout fall until the ground freezes to ensure adequate moisture for winter survival and spring readiness. In winter, if rainfall or snowfall is scant, water on warm days when temperatures exceed 40 degrees.
How We Support Your Plant Maintenance
Pruning diseased or dead branches and enhancing branching structure should be done in late fall or early winter. Limit pruning of green wood as winter approaches to conserve the plant's energy for healing. For large branches, start with an undercut 6 to 12 inches from the branch union, cutting less than halfway through. The top cut goes just outside the undercut for easy removal. This technique prevents bark tearing. The final cut should be just outside the branch's bark ridge and the branch collar to minimize wounding and promote quick recovery.
