Drought and weeds

Even though your lawn may be suffering, weeds seem to thrive. Why is that? Weeds thrive in distressed lawns. When grass is week, weeds sneak in. And during these high temperatures, most weed killer products do not work effectively and if they do work, they can take up to two weeks to fully kill the weed. This long dry spell, is causing all sorts of problems with central Indiana lawns. The good news is that we did get some trace amounts of rain over the last few days and some is better than none. The bad news is that it isn't enough to rebound lawns and fill reservoirs. As we've mentioned in previous posts, watering is critical for those who are not restricted to do so. And we are changing products to better handle the higher temps and dry weather.
