Lawn Pride’s fertilization services will enhance your lawn with the proper amounts of nutrients specifically formulated for lawns in the Carmel, Indiana area. In addition to fertilization, our seasonal program includes:

  • Pre-emergent – Our pre-emergent is applied twice in spring. This application creates a barrier to keep away crabgrass and foxtail.
  • Weed Control – We apply broadleaf weed control throughout the year. Our applications are tailor according to the weather and overall conditions of the Carmel area.
  • Insect Control – Twice a year, we include 2 service insect control applications at no additional cost. this is to keep insects from harming your lawn.

Over time your lawn can become compacted, causing poor drainage and preventing much-needed water and oxygen to the root system. A Core Aeration from Lawn Pride will alleviate these problems producing a thicker, healthier lawn. We’re here for the residents of Carmel by providing an easy and efficient annual aeration so that your turf gets the care it needs.

Breaking up the soil, and allowing more air, nutrients, and water to have access to the root zone, creates the ideal conditions for seeding your lawn.   This makes it easier to fill in bare spots, improve turf thickness, and enhance the lawn’s color.

Common Questions From Your Neighbors

When is the best time to seed my lawn, and what seed do you recommend?

We recommend aerating and seeding in the fall. Weeds naturally start to die off in the fall as the temperature starts to cool. This means that your new seed won’t have to fight for room to grow against as many weeds as it would if you seeded in the spring (when weeds are at the peak of the growing season). As for seed, Turf Type Tall Fescue is the seed for lawns in the Carmel area. This seed has a root system that grows deeper, making it more drought and disease tolerant. Check out our Seasonal Turf Tips.

How often should I be watering my lawn?

Central Indiana Lawns need 1 – 1.5 inches of water per week. This is the equivalent of watering your lawn for 30 – 45 minutes twice a week. Our Watering Turf Tips page has more tips and tricks to make watering your lawn easier.

Moles are ruining my lawn, but I had a grub control application. Shouldn’t that have protected my lawn from moles?

Moles will eat grub worms. However, their main source of food is the earthworm. Grub control will protect your lawn from damage caused by grubs themselves but not moles. Mole bait is a very effective way to get rid of moles that are on your lawn.
